Job Summary:
The Arizona Cardinals Training Camp Assistant – Fueling Station Attendant is sponsored by the Nutrition Services Department located at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Facility in Tempe, AZ. This position provides an exceptional opportunity for committed, hardworking, and dedicated individuals that are seeking to gain a future career in Performance Nutrition, including first-hand experience in a National Football League (NFL) environment. The Training Camp Assistant – Fueling Station Attendant assists in the pre/post-practice fueling practices needed to aid players in fueling and recovery.
Primary Job Duties:
The Training Camp Assistant – Fueling Station Attendant will have the daily responsibilities, without limitation, to include the following:
- Nutrition-Focused
- Assists the dietitian(s) in providing nutrition education and resources: food quality, nutrient timing, recovery, and hydration strategies.
- Food Service Operations
- Assists in food services tasks including stocking, portioning, cleaning, and organizing.
- Assists in collecting menu feedback and accommodating special diets.
- Assists in distribution of pre-, mid-, and post-practice Fueling Stations.
- Well-informed on current food trends, nutrition, and health issues/research related to performance. Integrates and applies information into culinary operation: recipe development and innovate offerings (anti-inflammatory, energy, recovery) for the team.
- Inventory of goods through necessary vendors for athletic Fueling Stations, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Currently enrolled in or graduated from a bachelor or graduate program in dietetics/nutrition or related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Experience in front of house food service operations.
- Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, preferred.
- Ability to accurately assess and evaluate energy balance, resting metabolic rate, and total energy expenditure consistent with the physiological demands of the sport and daily activities.
- Knowledge of NSF Certified for Sport® supplements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and nutrient analysis software using the USDA database.
- Self-motivated, outgoing, goal oriented and high energy; demonstrate a growth mindset and learning attitude.
- Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment.
- Understands the importance of teamwork and adherence to department guidelines.
- Organized and professional approach when presenting ideas and plans to superiors for departmental improvements.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; hours may vary depending on business needs.
- Current with all required certifications including a ServSafe Food Handlers Certifications.
- Respectfully handles confidential information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and maintains a professional attitude around a professional.
