Job description

Summary

Identifies, designs, presents, and evaluates Training and development needs in support of strategic business objectives for the organization. May focus predominantly on Training or on Organizational Development.

This position is a Hybrid role. 3 days onsite/2 days work from home.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing a variety of developmental initiatives, action plans, programs, and training materials.
  • Analyzing data procedures, processes, and the tools and resources related to performance management, employee engagement, and other surveys.
  • Plans, coordinates and maintains the leadership development program.
  • Interviewing personnel as part of discovery, focus groups, and other data gathering and validation efforts.
  • Designs, implements, and manages programs to analyze evaluation feedback and implement changes/revisions to ensure Organizational Development and training activities are focused on business needs, corporate objectives, and customer requirements.
  • Partners with management and HR in the identification and application of appropriate assessment tools and development interventions to facilitate individual and/or Organizational Development.
  • Builds and maintains professional status and working relationships with internal and external training leaders and technical associations relating to training, quality assurance, and safety.
  • Conducts focus groups to provide feedback to the organization regarding corporate culture and Organizational Development issues.
  • Conducts individual management development sessions using assessment tools to provide feedback and coaching.
  • Facilitates intact work group interventions based on principles of group dynamics and Organizational Development in order to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Advising HR partners and managers on finding the right solutions and services to meet business needs.
  • Documenting processes and presenting progress reports to talent team and other partners.
  • Travels to other sites as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities

Continually evaluates existing program effectiveness and improves when necessary to meet both customer and current organizational needs. Establishes evaluation criteria, designs evaluation tools and methods to measure the effectiveness of employee development/Training and related activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent knowledge of adult learning theory. Excellent skills in MS Office. Strong skills with audio video equipment for presentations. Excellent facilitation, platform, written, and verbal communication skills. Applied knowledge of multiple modalities of skill building strategies, i.e.- eLearning, virtual, and instructor led. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to perform root cause analysis. Ability to function independently as well as part of a team, in a demanding environment. Ability to collaborate with a variety of management levels and functional groups. Ability to demonstrate practical applications and flexibility in adapting programs and services to meet specific customer requirements. Solid organizational skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of professionals in a learning environment.

Education

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like organizational psychology, Organizational Development, or business administration.

Experience

Typically requires 5 years of Training and Organizational Development experience.

Equivalency

Depending on area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirement. Example: if a job level requires a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years' experience, an equivalency could include 8 years, an Associate's degree with 6 years' experience, or master's or a master's degree with 2 years' experience.

Occupational Demands

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 30lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups.
