Responsibilities
Eastman is looking for a Train Crew Team Member to join the Materials Handling team at our chemical manufacturing plant in Pace, Florida. The Train Crew is integral to the safe and successful operation of the site. This position works with other team members to plan and execute movements of railcars to be loaded, unloaded, and shipped. The team operates the locomotive, connects and disconnects railcars to the train, and throws switches on the track to route railcars to the proper location.
Commitment to a Zero Incident safety mindset is essential, as well as ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. The hours for this position are Mon-Fri from 5:30am to 1:30pm. Flexibility to work overtime is required. This position is not eligible for relocation or sponsorship.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Locomotive and rail experience
- Focus and attention to detail required to accurately select and spot railcars
- Stable work history showing industrial experience, including working outdoors
- Must be able to work safely and efficiently
- SAP knowledge strongly preferred
- Must know how to use computer and Microsoft Office software
- Must be able to work overtime
- Ability to speak, write, understand, and read English fluently
- A valid unrestricted driver's license is required
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to be a collaborative team member
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, physical and background check
Physical Work Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to wear respirator to ensure personal safety
- Ability to climb steps, walk, stoop, crouch, bend, carry and reach
- Ability to work outdoors in Florida temperature extremes
- Willingness and ability to be on site's Emergency Services Team
Education and Skills
- High School diploma or GED and legally able to work in the U.S.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills
