SUMMARY: Performs a variety of tasks in support of Snowbasin’s Vegetation Management and Trail Maintenance Program.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a mountainous environment where terrain may be steep, uneven, rocky, and covered with thick and tangled vegetation. Temperatures range from very hot and dry to cool and extremely wet.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (other duties may be assigned):
- Ensure the highest standard of safety is maintained.
- Work assigned shifts and attend trainings
- New ski slope clearing and existing ski slope maintenance.
- Mountain bike trail construction and maintenance.
- Demonstrate hazard awareness and ability to improve work practices.
- Monitor and report issues regarding trail conditions and use.
- Provide emergency care and transport for guests and employees (training and certification required).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to safely operate clearing saws, wood chipper, and hand tools.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently of direct supervision.
- Give and receive feedback in a positive manner.
- Maintain a cooperative attitude, high level of energy and morale.
- Ensure effective communications during all phases of work.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
- Adhere to all Snowbasin policies and procedures regarding safety.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including; but not limited to: boots, gloves, protective eyewear, hearing protection, hardhats, etc.
- Immediately report any injuries or near misses to supervisor.
