Job description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a TRAFFIC MANANGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1912P01 and is part of the OK JFHQ, Oklahoma Army National Guard.

Qualifications:

Military Grades: E5 through E8, W1 through W3, O1 through O3
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Experience in developing policies and administering the management of military traffic programs, planning and directing traffic operations within the program and performing necessary technical work involved in obtaining economical and efficient transportation of military equipment, supplies, and personnel in support of military movement operations.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Your resume must reflect 24 months of experience to qualify. Experience must include: managing the movement of military freight and passengers; determining operating cost for transportation of military personnel and equipment; participation in the direct coordination and the full spectrum of transportation and traffic management functions; experience interpreting new regulations and/or requirements and developing local policy requirements to implement changes effectively; experience in preparing reports and recommendations involving special hauling permits, convoy movements, and annual reporting requirements on unit movement data (UMD), mobilization movement planning and training.
Practical knowledge of industry practices and procedures and the established regulations, requirements, and techniques related to a transportation functional program. This knowledge is used to perform independent work involving specified segments of large projects or well-defined projects of lesser scope that require the application of standardized traffic management methods and procedures. The work requires skill in analyzing and interpreting technical transportation requirements and guidelines to perform a variety of assignments for which there are general precedents.
Practical knowledge of organizational practices and activities and skill in applying this knowledge to plan and accomplish a variety of complex work assignments, and the ability to identify, analyze and resolve transportation issues or problems.
Knowledge of financial/budgetary requirements sufficient to perform monthly reconciliation of all charges associated with the transportation program.

Education:

A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience. The education must have been in fields directly related to the type of work of the position, (i.e. transportation or traffic management, economics, business administration, accounting, finance, or statistics).
