The Traffic Control Technician will perform tasks to ensure safe work environments for the project crews and the public.
Responsibilities
- Setup, maintain, and remove temporary work zones including warning signs, traffic cones, barrels, barricades, stop slow paddles, and rumble strips
- Use stop and slow paddles to control the flow of traffic and perform lane closures
- Ensure that automobiles and pedestrians do not interfere with or pose a danger to themselves and project crews
- Standing 8-10 hours and lifting 50lbs
- Working around a fast-moving traffic
- Effectively communicating with other flaggers using hand-held devices to direct two-way traffic safely.
- Proactively informing the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety.
- Coordinated removal of all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work
Abilities
- Basic knowledge of traffic safety regulations
- Ability to complete designated amount of work in a specified time frame
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 50lbs
- Ability to perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (e. g. , extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather)
- Ability to communicate with employees, contractors, and pedestrians in person in a clear,
- Demonstrated sound judgment and decision making
- Maintaining organized and accurate records
- Bend/squat/kneel/stand frequently
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (motor vehicle, drug, and background)
Must
- TCT/TCS valid certification or capable of completing certification course
- Valid drivers license
- Be able to stand 8-10 hours per day, lift 50lbs and walk up to 1-2 miles setting and removing work zones.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
