Job Description
Overview
The Traffic Control/P.I. Technician is responsible for delivering, installing, and manning Traffic Control activities (lane closures, construction barricade set-ups, etc.), and also installing permanent signage for TxDOT and others. The candidate needs to ensure that plans are followed correctly; work is completed accurately and on-time; employees are following safety regulations; and that the customer is satisfied with the overall work product.
Responsibilities
Understanding of:
Customer needs and able to provide expertise on job set-up Traffic control requirements for lane closures
Work Zone barricade requirements Permanent Sign Installation practices
Be able to layout jobs for correct placement of signage/barricades Provide outstanding customer service, including proper phone etiquette Follow all Safety Policies and Procedures
Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Regularly required to stand/walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop; and kneel, crouch or crawl
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; moving equipment and machinery parts; moving traffic, and fumes and airborne particles
Noise level of the work environment is usually moderate/loud Frequent night-time and weekend hours
Work is performed in all types of weather conditions
Travel
Travel to and from worksites. Some overnight travel may be required.
Requirements
- 3 – 5 years of industry experience
- Valid Driver’s License and Clean MVR
ATSSA TCT/TCS Certification – Ability to obtain and keep certificate Fork Lift Certification – Certified to operate Fork Lift
Preferred
High School Diploma
· Previous supervisory experience First-aid and CPR training
