Job Duties
Position is to assist with the physical plant and operational demands of the Academy for Staff Development Western campus. This position performs assigned maintenance work in multiple areas of the building trades, including construction, carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical, and related structural systems. This position assists with the operation of the ASD-Western Campus food service operations. This position supervises inmate workers and ensures assigned work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of building maintenance and repair. Ability to repair and maintain facility buildings and furnishings. Ability to keep narrative and statistical records relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Additional Considerations
Advanced knowledge or certifications in the trades or ServSafe. Experience working in an adult corrections or similar environment. Experience in all major building trades
