Trademark/Commercial Litigation Paralegal
Duties:
- Conduct due diligence research and reviews, research infringements, review trademark searches, and gather relevant information for trademark cases
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as trademark applications and responses to office actions; drafting assignment documents for recordation, TTAB pleadings, and meeting country specific requirements, such as notarization and legalization of documents
- Transcribe and proofread legal documents and correspondence
- Maintain and update case files and databases
- Assist in the management of trademark portfolios and litigation matters, including maintaining calendar system for all deadlines
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and government agencies as needed
- Prepare reports and summaries for attorneys regarding case status and developments
- Assist in the preparation for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
- Able to work with a high volume and prioritize tasks and track billable time
Requirements:
- 5 years of law firm experience required; Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred
- Previous experience as a Trademark Paralegal or in a similar role is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of trademark law and Florida Rules of Civil Procedure
- Proficient in conducting legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis or Westlaw
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Familiarity with Centerbase Cloud-Based Law Firm Management & Accounting software is a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, O365, and Acrobat Adobe Pro
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.50 per week
