Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trademark & Intellectual Property Paralegal with at least 4 years of experience to join their busy Intellectual Property Group.
Role: Trademark & Intellectual Property Paralegal
Pay: $70,000 to $117,500/year DOE
Location: Portland, Oregon
Direct Hire
3 days in office 2 remote -Hybrid available after the first 30 days of employment
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support to all aspects of trademark and copyright prosecution and maintenance including preparing and filing U.S., state, and International trademark applications, renewals, and other related filings.
- Prepare and file documents with the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board for oppositions and cancellations.
- Docket maintenance and renewal deadlines for U.S. and foreign trademarks; copyright registrations and dispute proceedings.
- Prepare legal documents, assignments, reports, and correspondence.
- Third-party investigation and monitoring, including monitoring third-party domain names and trademarks concerning potential infringement; Internet research including researching and reviewing third-party websites.
- Coordinate the authentication and legalization of documents used in foreign trademark filings or for court/administrative proceedings.
- Correspond with clients and foreign counsel regarding deadlines and filing requirements.
- Proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical, and spelling errors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience as a trademark and Intellectual Property Paralegal or experience in a similar position.
- Extensive experience in conducting trademark clearance searches for U.S. and foreign filings.
- Experience filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, World Intellectual Property Office, U.S. Copyright Office, and foreign agents.
- Experience with IP Management Systems, managing large dockets and databases.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of client matters and other company business information.
- Exceptional oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, including the ability to provide clarity on complex topics and maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Knowledge of business law terms.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, solve problems, and take initiative with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat (or similar), DocuSign, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent typing, grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
Billable Goal: 121 hours/ week (1450-1460)
