Compensation: $22 - $30 per hour DOE + Benefits

Schedule: Mon -Fri / 8 AM-5 PM

Position Summary:

As a Diesel Mechanic, you are a skilled and dedicated professional responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of diesel-powered equipment. Your role involves following supervisor instructions, inspecting equipment to identify issues, and executing necessary repairs, maintenance, and overhauls on a wide range of machinery, including farm equipment, construction machinery, and turf equipment such as tractors, skid steers, rammers, mowers and implements.

Job Description

Equipment Inspection: Conduct comprehensive inspections of diesel-powered equipment to identify defects, malfunctions, or areas requiring maintenance or repair. Dismantling and Repair: Utilize your mechanical expertise and hand tools to disassemble, diagnose, and repair defective machinery, ensuring precision and quality in your work. Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of all repairs performed, including details of the work completed and the parts used. Document recommendations for future maintenance or improvements. Problem Solving: Work as part of a team to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, contribute to problem-solving efforts, and propose effective solutions to ensure machinery is running optimally. Safety Compliance: Prioritize safety by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Preventive Maintenance: Assist in establishing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and extend the service life of machinery.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in diesel equipment maintenance, repair, and overhauls.

  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems, components, and maintenance techniques.

  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools and power tools for mechanical work.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, acute attention to detail, and a mechanical aptitude.

  • Effective team player with the ability to work collaboratively and follow instructions accurately.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in equipment maintenance.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (certification in diesel mechanics is preferred).
