Tower Technician I

Wisper is seeking an entry-level full-time non-exempt Tower Tech I to join our Operations Maintenance Tower Team.

Responsibilities for this role include climbing and deploying, repairing & decommission of wireless internet tower equipment throughout our network with a focus on our existing network. In this position, the tasks will be assigned by the Tower Technician Lead/Tower Manager based on individual job sites. Training will include best practices and safety standards. This position may require off duty hours work, a paid on-call after hours schedule & alternating climbing and ground work days to be performed as needed by the department, as well as up to 30% overnight travel within the network.

Essential Job Functions
•Climb towers up to 1000 ft.
•Install/maintain wireless Internet equipment & camera systems
•Mount Internet equipment & relay data cables to each device
•Install battery backups & grounding systems for equipment
•Prepare equipment for installation
•Follow training protocols & safety briefings
•Other duties as directed

Job Requirements
•Valid driver's license
•Ability to be added to the Company auto insurance policy
•Must successfully complete required tower training within 90 days of hire
•Obtain & maintain the provided training certifications per industry standards

•Ability to climb towers up to 1000 ft. •Work after normal business hours & weekends as needed

•Up to 30% overnight travel within the network as needed by department
•Legally authorized to work in country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future

Working Conditions
Fast-paced environment with multiple changes to schedules & fluctuating priorities; working primarily outdoors and in all weather conditions; work is performed above ground at roof-top and tower-level heights.
