Job Summary:

The Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wireless-guided (TOW) Weapon System program in the Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) strategic business unit; Precision Fires and Maneuvers (PF&M) SSBU has an immediate opening for a TOW Financial Planning Analyst role. This position will focus on supporting the TOW program in providing accurate financial analysis to internal leadership and stakeholders. This will include tracking results against forecast and budget, maintenance of weekly/monthly financial reports, supporting Monthly Business Reviews, and ad-hoc financial analysis.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to partner with multiple levels of program and portfolio leadership. This partnership would include interactions with PF&M level directors, production program managers, and all functional partners helping to support successful reporting and analysis of the TOW financial Plan.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an excellent communicator with a strong desire to learn while being progressively challenged and must excel at multi-tasking, effective and influential communication, innovative problem solving, and must have a firm understanding of financial principles common to the aerospace and defense industry.

This position is currently designated as fully remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories)

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Leading the financial planning efforts of monthly forecasting, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Strategic and Long-Range Planning (LRP-5 Year Plans), business case modeling alignment to the forecast, Cash Flow Analysis, Short Range Outlook; as well as supporting other ad-hoc management reviews
  • Additional responsibility includes the consolidation and preparation of various Precision Fires and Maneuvers (PF&M) level financial products while helping to drive business results across the entire organization via timely and accurate assessments of data on key financial metrics
  • Expect high visibility including substantial interaction with senior finance managers and directors, leaders of TOW and PF&M SSBU leadership team. The ability to develop productive partnerships with our team, other functions, analysts, and the Product Line leaders are essential for success in this position
  • Individual will have responsibility of TOW NBI and Overhead budget management and reporting
  • Developing, utilizing and disseminating process improvement and tool improvement opportunities to enhance analytical opportunities for the entire finance team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and understanding of using data reporting tools and practices.
  • Experience with SAP, APEX, EDIT+, Business Warehouse or similar tools
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing Estimates at Completion (EACs)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task & work successfully in a deadline driven environment.
  • Experience preparing presentation packages for executive level review.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and synthesize data into managerial summaries.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Strong personal computer skills including a high level of proficiency with automating data using MS office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong customer focus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
