Job Description
Duties:
Directs the activities of the field staff
Communicates via two-way radio with dispatch
Assists in the transporting of a patient(s) with patients movement devices.
Ascertain that all equipment is in good mechanical order.
Insure adequate medical supplies are available to all EMS Crew members.
Recommend changes in responses and field operations to EMS Supervisor/Director.
Participates in cleaning, restocking and disinfecting after each call.
Provide backup EMT staffing as needed.
Inspect ambulances for proper maintenance and stocking as well as inspect crew station.
Notifies a supervisor of any deficiencies regarding maintenance, equipment, or supplies.
Enforces all policies and procedures of the Emergency Medical Services.
Insures all policies and procedures are followed on each response.
Assesses the need for additional services and makes the appropriate requests.
Make decisions regarding patient care, hospital destination and use of services.
Ability to read a map, knowledge of State, County and other public roadways.
Ability to perform duties in stressful and sometimes life-threatening situations.
Inspect EMS stations to cleanness, order and safety during each shift.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and public.
Knowledge of NJ Administrative Code Statue 8:40.
Knowledge of other standards, rules, regulations, and policies related to EMS.
EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
3 Years EMT experience
CREDENTIALS + QUALIFICATIONS:
NJ EMT/EMP-P Certified
American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
HazMat Training at the awareness level or higher
NIMS 700
ICS-100
CEVO II / III certification within 3 months of employment
Current Drivers License
