What You Will Do

Some core responsibilities of a Torque Superintendent include:

  • Plan, implement, manage, monitor performance, and improve all torque-related equipment, processes, and systems utilized in manufacturing our product.
  • Provide technical direction to the contract and in-house torque tooling technician team who execute tool programming, calibration, and preventive maintenance functions.
  • Develop torque control strategies for new and existing products
  • Support torque related continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist in training and mentoring hourly employees to ensure a safe and efficient torque tooling department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, insurance, and other industry standards/requirements (e.g. NFPA, EPA, OSHA, NEC).
  • Collaborate with tool suppliers to develop the best cost-effective solutions for our customers and business partners
  • Inspect and evaluate machine conditions and react to any gaps in actual versus expected performance

Some physical demands of being a Torque Superintendent include:

  • Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
  • Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
  • Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day. Breaks are given in 2.5 hour intervals
  • Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.
  • Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 3 years of previous experience as a Torque Superintendent or General Superintendent in an industrial construction environment.
  • Must follow company safety procedures and industry known best work practices.
  • Travel is a must with extended periods away from home in remote areas at times.
  • Must be able to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week when needed by project schedule demands.
  • Must be able to meet all physical demands of the job.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 5+ years of experience as a Torque Superintendent or related role.
  • Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment.
  • Previous experience working different types of skilled crafts.
