Tooling And Fixture Design Engineer

General Characteristics:

Our product development team leverages sound engineering principles, broad design experience, in-house rapid prototyping, and external vendor relationships to bring ideas to reality. Mechanical engineers at LSINC will plan and execute engineering research, design, development, fabrication, installation, repair and test projects for both commercial and government clients.

Responsibilities:

• Apply engineering principles and technical expertise on projects with his/her contribution ranging from part of team on major projects to full responsibility on less complex projects
• Execute design for a variety of small projects and potions of larger projects
• Plan and execute tests, to include post-test analysis and reporting
• Conduct risk assessments, resolve technical issues and read/explain professional drawings
• Ensures documentation is accurate and updated as needed, and parts are labeled
• Assist in proposal process, developing project budgets and monitor project performance against budget
• Perform other duties as assigned by management or team lead

Experience/Skills:

• Experience with Solid Edge, Solid Works, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Understanding of Geometric Tolerances
• Knowledge of Product Architecture
• Ability to design, manage and execute projects from concept to finished product
• Capability to develop budgets and complete projects within budget parameters
• Ability to execute risk assessment and problem resolution
• Excellent time management skills
• Exceptional organization skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Understanding of supply chain, optical or manufacturing engineering

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years Engineering Experience preferred
