To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished sample, sequence of operations and set up requirements of machine tools and equipment.
- Make new details from prints or duplicates from existing details.
- Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining
- Set up, operate, and become proficient on all tool room equipment including lathe, drill press, conventional milling machine (Bridgeport), and surface grinder.
- Bench (stone) die details to high polish.
- Smooths flat and contoured surfaces to fit and assemble parts together into assemblies and mechanisms.
- Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
- Determine specifications for inspection of work, using full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before, during and after machining.
- Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools, and Dies.
- Willing to attend required classes and schooling needed to complete the training process.
- Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
This full time, hourly role is a part of our Belleville Plant 2 team and reports to the Toolroom Supervisor.
Required experience:
Ability to work with the following tools:
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Scales
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
