Job Description
Perform highly advanced and complex investigations addressing complaints and allegations of sexual and gender-based misconduct including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking in which a student is the named respondent. Work closely with students, faculty, staff and community partners to ensure that a fair and equitable process is followed in managing and addressing issues of sex discrimination including sexual and relationship violence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum four years of experience conducting Title IX investigations or similar.

Job Specific Qualifications
  • Expertise investigating complaints of sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, sexual violence, stalking, and relationship violence preferred.
  • Experience in higher education and familiarity with University policies and procedures is desired.
  • Familiarity with research and best practices related to sexual violence, sexual harassment, abuse, and stalking complaint investigation, particularly in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent judgement, complex problem-solving capabilities, and responsiveness in crises and emergency situations.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to exercise independent judgement, and work effectively and collaboratively with diverse populations.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, be able to multi-task, manage a complex workload, and meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate all complaints of alleged discrimination arising under Title IX, NYS law and related regulations and policies where a student is named as the respondent. Meet with reporter(s), accused, witnesses and other relevant parties to obtain and verify information. Prepare, review, summarize and evaluate relevant information in investigation reports. Act as a neutral party through all aspects of investigation to ensure prompt, fair, and neutral process for all parties. Maintain accurate and thorough records and notes of investigatory process. Read, interpret, and implement Federal, University and State compliance policies. Draft written summaries of findings and assist in resolution process, as appropriate.
  • Utilize case management database to organize, manage, and track all Title IX incidents in which a student is the respondent. Help create and maintain a welcoming, supportive, equitable, and safe environment for every member of the campus community.
  • Other duties as assigned.
