Hourly Pay - $29.63A.S.E Bonus eligible
Performs vehicle maintenance to the Transdev standards.
- Removes, cleans, repairs, reinstalls, and adjusts vehicle components (Engine Emission Components, Driveline Components, Electrical/Electronic Components, Brakes/Suspension/Steering/Exhaust, Cab/Chassis and Hydraulics).
- Diagnoses and performs accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair.
- Ensures work orders are completed properly and accurately.
- Selects appropriate course of action for repairs.
- Evaluates completed work prior to release – seeks supervisor approval where required.
- Ensures safe use of power and hand-held tools and shop equipment as required per the shop safety handbook.
- Performs road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Moves vehicles safely between job and work area.
- Communicates professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors.
- Actively participates in safety or educational training as required.
- Ability to perform most repairs with minimal supervision.
- Ability to instruct other technicians in preventive maintenance techniques.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Minimum 2 year direct automotive repair experience or technical training.
- Must have an appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Bring demonstrated abilities of building solid relationships with superiors and peers.
This classification is required to work under varying climactic conditions including heat, cold, wet and dry due to the open garage doors or being required to work outdoors. There is regular exposure to vehicle exhaust fumes, dust and dirt, parts cleaning chemicals, diesel fuel, gasoline, various oils, antifreeze, and loud noise. Approximately 75% of the shift is spent standing and completing tasks requiring fine-grained motor skills. The remaining time may be spent bending, stooping, and crouching. Lifting to 100 pounds will be conducted occasionally. This position must maintain a valid DOT physical certification. This position will be required to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
