Job duties will be focused on harvest unit layout and administration, road construction operations and other management assistance on Hampton timberlands in the Salem Management Area (Northwest Oregon). This job will be based out of our Salem, Oregon office.

- Assist with Hampton’s harvesting and forest road construction operations in the Salem management area
- Ensure operations comply with State and Federal regulations and the standards of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)
- Perform all duties in accordance with Hamptons safety plan
- Assist in the Development of short and long-term harvesting and road construction plans for the Salem Area
- Assist in scheduling harvesting and road building, including permitting, layout and supervision.
- Negotiates contracts with the approval of the VP Of Resources or Timberland Manager
- Administers contracts on managed fee lands
- Ensure log quality from the stump to the mill on managed fee lands
- Represent the company on industry, community and advocacy committees or councils as requested
- Assist with other Resources management needs; inventory cruising, silviculture, road maintenance, land and timber acquisition projects
- Excellent PC skills using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Proven customer service skills, negotiation skills, and related verbal and written communication skills
- Continue education for professional improvement

Education: This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Forest related disciplines, or a related natural resources field, and preferably 1-5 years of demonstrated field, administrative or supervisory experience.
Work Conditions: The work area will be in NW Oregon, with limited overnight travel and consist of 80% fieldwork and 20% office work. Field work to be performed in difficult field conditions, such as rough terrain and in dense vegetation, during inclement weather (snow, rain, heat) alone or as part of a team.
