Description:
The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking candidates for our Ticket Sales Internprogram. This position will start in January-March and run through the baseball season with the potential to extend longer. This internship offers an opportunity to become an active member of our team where you will experience various roles within Ticket Sales & retention. You will gain practical knowledge and individual development in Ticket Sales, customer service, premium seating, operations, and gameday programming. You will also have the opportunity to participate in networking events with an array of departments and leaders throughout the A's organization. We offer our interns the opportunity to shadow other departments, so they can see how the rest of our front office operates and works with the ticketing team.
This internship will prepare candidates for a career in sports ticketing, as this program has led to full-time opportunities with the A's and other professional sports organizations in MLB, NBA, NHL, and MLS.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and execute sales initiatives within group sales, premium, and season ticket retention
- Develop proficiency with MLB digital ticketing initiatives
- Effectively utilize sales technology including Salesforce CRM and ProVenue
- Play an active role in our customer service by using all forms of communication
- Assist and spearhead special projects to support organization initiatives
- Create and present your own project to the A's leadership team
- Represent the organization in a professional manner, consistent with company pillars and culture
- Provide overall Ticket Sales, operations, and customer service support on game days
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced sales and service environment
- Excellent verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills; previous customer service experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Candidates must be enthusiastic with a strong work ethic and have the ability to problem solve
- Desire to grow professionally and advance in the sports industry
- Eagerness to learn and ask questions
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
In adherence to California's Pay Transparency Act (SB 1162), the base hourly rate for this role is $16.50, consistent with California's minimum wage requirement.
