Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Associate Athletic Director of Ticket Operations, the Ticket Operations Coordinator will assist the Assistant Director of Ticket Operations by providing customer service and ticket sales duties in person and via the telephone.  Customer base includes current season ticket holders, SDSU students, SDSU faculty/staff, and the general public. Works on independent projects including, but not limited to, assistance with the outbound ticket sales team, seat relocation and additional seat requests to upgrade Aztec Club members for football, monitoring and event creation for Archtics and Ascot systems, and phone messaging. Will serve in a supervisor role on select game nights for all ticketed events. 

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. 

The individual hired into this role will work at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.

Department Summary

The Department of Athletics, utilizing the services of over 150 employees, is responsible for the intercollegiate athletics program at San Diego State University.  Currently, there are 18 sport programs, approximately 550 student-athletes, and 17 offices in the department.  The offices include the following:  The Aztec Club, Administration, Athletic Medicine, Business Office, Compliance, Corporate Sales, Development, Equipment, Event Management/Facilities and Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, Media Relations, Strength and Conditioning, Student-Athlete Academic Support Services, Ticket Office, and Video.

Education and Experience

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.

These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Key Qualifications

  • One year of customer service including cash handling duties is preferred.
  • Experience with Archtics/Ticketmaster and Ascot accounting systems is preferred. 
  • Equivalent to four years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience which has provided the above knowledge and abilities is preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Ticket sales experience in an athletic ticket office environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal/writing skills. 

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,013 per month. 

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,681 - $6,034 per month.
