Position: Thrift Store Associate

Primary Function:

Responsible for supporting Thrift Store operations to include receiving and processing donations, pricing, production, merchandising, cashiering and recovering store.

Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

• Communicate effectively with fellow associates, customers, volunteers, and donors.

• Ability to manage multiple work tasks

• Able to work independently or as part of a team

• Learn, interpret and implement policies relating to the donations, processing, and other Thrift Store related operations.

• High school diploma or G.E.D preferred

• Previous work experience with handling donations, processing, and customer service with a non profit organization is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for greeting St. Vincent de Paul customers, donors, volunteers and all associates.

• Perceive problems related to donated goods and communicate to supervisor in a professional manner

• Provide customer service, receive and process donations, run a register and help facilitate all other essential Thrift Store functions.

• Keeps all records as required.

• Keep dock area, shop, sales floor, and backroom work are clean and report any unsafe conditions immediately

• Follow all safety policies are procedures

• Remove trash

• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment, including energized equipment, manual operation equipment, registers, and any other operational related property.

• Stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach

• Climb up or down stairs

• Able to reach above or below shoulders

• Sitting or stand for long periods of time on sales floor, backroom, at the registers, office, or donation area.

• Lift or move objects up to 50 pounds. Team lift items above 50lbs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
