The Thought Leader Liaison Director role is a field-based, non-sales focused position, working closely with pHLH U.S Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to ensure cross-functional resources are made available as appropriate. The four primary areas of focus, but not limited to these four, for a TLLD are pHLH KOL engagement, speaker programs/advisory boards, commercial insight gathering, and partnering with marketing for resource development. The TLLD may lead marketing resources development, especially if KOLs are involved, including taking the pieces through SRC. All TLLD interactions are always within label, and consistent with commercial compliance, legal and regulatory guidelines.
A TLLD will work closely, and within approved SOPs, with the other field professionals, including but not limited to the CBDs (Commercial Business Director), FRSMs (Field Reimbursement Manager), RADs (Regional Account Directors) and MSLs (Medical Sciences Liaisons); in addition to office-based colleagues in Medical Affairs, Commercial Experience Innovation & Operations, and Market Access. The behaviors that are critical for success are collaboration, communication, planning, relationship building, and the ability to execute tactical initiatives and provide timely feedback. TLLDs will report to the Executive Director, Immunology Marketing.
Location preference is the West coast, preferably near a major airport.

- KOL Engagement
Aligning with cross functional account plans & teams, the TLLD orchestrates marketing and commercial resources with the top 10%-20% of KOLs.
Identify, profile, cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with KOLs within the pHLH community
Conduct substantial business on-label conversations focused on topics; such as product, disease state, and company, at appropriate venues, in and outside the office setting
Execute unique, on-label, and approved KOL programming; such as speaker disease state and product programming and advisory boards
A TLLD is expected to compliantly collaborate and communicate with the field team on each assigned KOL, to ensure strategic and tactical cohesiveness
Main point of contact to resolve KOL commercial/marketing issues
Execute a customer centric needs-based approach with targeted KOLs
Work with MSL's to plan and execute KOL engagements and executive encounters at local, regional and national conferences, POAs, in field engagements, and other venues as directed in a complaint manner
Act as a liaison between KOLs and home office cross-functional teams, primarily for commercial/marketing encounter (other executive encounters as requested)
Responsible for all KOL contracting for commercial needs, in partnership with home-office marketing, legal, finance, and commercial experience innovation & operations - Marketing
Work with targeted KOLs to obtain feedback on new pHLH Franchise and brand-related marketing strategies/materials. All materials and program feedback requested by a TLLD will be approved by legal, compliance and regulatory.
Provide feedback to commercial leadership on various topics as requested
Lead various KOL-involved marketing projects, including resource development through the legal, regulatory, medical review process
Supporting home-office based marketing and leadership with commercial insights
Support development of the annual brand franchise plan - The base salary pay range for this role is $150,000-$230,000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
- Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
pHLH or Immunology, Orphan or Ultra Rare Disease experience
Demonstrated leadership skills
A minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in one or more of the following: field sales, product marketing, or medical / clinical experience in the same or related therapeutic area within the pharmaceutical / biotech industry
Deep understanding of people and possess an ability to build mutually beneficial relationships
Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams toward a shared vision of success
Ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups, targeting presentation to the needs of the audience
Strong organizational skills
Strong project management experience, including superior analytical and planning skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to execute against strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines
Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary
Valid driver's license
~ 50% - 75% domestic travel likely; could be less based on geography. Limited International travel could be expected
