The LCSW provides assessment, psychosocial evaluations, and individual, family and group therapy. Must demonstrate use of best practices: approaches to counseling practice that have empirical evidence to support their effectiveness. Scope of practice to include mental health and substance use disorder treatment. Ability to engage patients in the treatment process is necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. This position necessitates working in a team setting to ensure quality throughout the continuum of care, as well as identifying those individuals who meet criteria for outpatient admission. In the outpatient setting clinicians engage in frequent communication with community partners referring to our programs.
Job tasks and responsibilities include:
- Responsible and accountable for coordination of services through an interdisciplinary process which provides a clinical and psychosocial approach through the continuum of care
- Group Therapy: process and psycho-educational groups
- Individual and family therapy
- Knowledgeable of community resources
- Engages patient’s family in treatment planning, when appropriate
- Provides age and culturally appropriate care
- Timely documentation in the patient record
- Follows hospital and regulatory guidelines
- Protects patient privacy
- Demonstrates competence in the performance of tasks necessary to maintain a therapeutic milieu
- Monitors patient behavior and the environment of care and intervenes appropriately to maintain safety
- Consistently demonstrates professional and ethical behavior consistent with hospital standards
- Other duties as assigned
- Master of Social Work (MSW)
- Licensed in the State of Florida (LCSW)
- BLS certification
- 1-3 years mental health experience preferred
- Experience in group and individual therapy required
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision required
- Good time management skills
