Job Summary
To qualify for this position, the individual must be approved by the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional- Child (QMHP-C) or Qualified Mental Health Trainee
Position Responsibilities
- Complete and facilitate daily sessions of assigned caseload
- Provide daily individual counseling for each participant successfully admitted to the Therapeutic Day Treatment program.
- Complete daily progress notes, quarterly reports, and case staffing reports, and all other documentation by assigned deadlines.
- Assists in treatment planning.
- Initiate weekly face-to-face or telephone family therapy to the parent of each participant. Keep a record of contact.
- Responsible for the daily monitoring of medication compliance of participants to whom medication is prescribed.
- Provides parent education and support.
- Conduct weekly psycho-educational counseling groups
- Provides linkage to community-based services and supports; provides advocacy and support for the family with these services
- Coordinates the scheduling of appointments, as needed.
- Available for 24-hour crisis intervention and family support.
- Maintains regular and ongoing contact with referring agencies, as well as collaborative agencies involved in youth and family’s case.
- Actively coordinates and plans discharge and aftercare plans with referring agency.
- Attends supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
