Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Specialist to provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with daily activities and ensuring their overall well-being. Duties:
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs as directed
- Implement individualized care plans and follow established protocols
- Support individuals in participating in social and recreational activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and any observed changes in behavior or health
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in direct support or home care preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
- Familiarity with nursing home or assisted living environments is beneficial
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals and their families
- Proficient in performing vital signs monitoring and basic first aid procedures
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
