What will you do?

The Apparel Color Designer is a key member of the color palette creation team sitting in the Global Creative Direction team reporting into the Color Director. This role contributes to new directional, brand relevant color palettes that address the needs of our global market at multiple customer touch points.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Create seasonal color palettes through global market analysis, trend research and brand DNA. Work in conjunction with the Creative Direction team on new seasonal concepts and storytelling.

  • Work as a conduit to regional color insights to input into the global macro direction.

  • Propose a merchandising color flow each the season, while considering color and product lifecycle at retail.

  • Build effective presentation materials that communicate color direction related to the brand’s objective

  • Maintain calendar deadlines and deliverables that result in a timely completion of seasonal product lines.

  • Communicate collection specific color application to cross-functional teams

  • Apply color on 2D, 3D and 4D CADs to visualize colored up product to ensure coordination of merchandisable collections.

  • Successfully influence color decisions across functions with full accountability and ownership for the outcome as well as the process.

  • Work closely with global teams on brand color alignment. Evaluate and adopt regional colors as needed.

  • Responsible for maintaining accuracy of global color palette, managing color tools and communication of color standards throughout the organization and global teams.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 3-5 years of experience and professional achievements in a design environment working with colors, palette development and/or color trends.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Solid awareness of global outdoor, lifestyle and streetwear trends and the and the ability to interpret these trends though the TNF lens.

  • Knowledge of the product design and development process

  • High proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Powerpoint in a Mac environment

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools is considered a plus and should be highlighted in application process

  • Flexible and able to adapt to new ways of working.

  • Possess effective communication and presentations skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

Hiring Range:

$73,440.00 USD - $91,800.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
