Who we are looking for:
Toyota Financial Services (TFS) Data & Analytics (DnA) team is looking for a highly motivated, driven graduate students with an interest in technology, financial services, software engineering, and the automotive industry to fill internship roles in our Machine Leaning (ML) team.
The ML Software Engineering Internship Program offers a blend of on-the-job experience, networking, and mentorship, all crucial for personal and professional development. As an intern, you'll dedicate roughly 12 weeks at our Toyota Headquarters in Plano, TX, acquiring valuable work experience with a globally esteemed company. The program is scheduled from May to August 2024. Outstanding performers frequently receive invitations for subsequent internships and have opportunities to interview for full-time roles.
What you'll be doing:
Through this internship, you will collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and Data Engineers to design, build, and applications to address business challenges and offer analytical insights.
  • Design and develop the architecture for Machine Learning systems.
  • A foundational understanding of Python, Machine Learning libraries (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn), and data manipulation tools.
  • Implement scalable Machine Learning solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing platforms.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure the availability and quality of data inputs.
  • Deploy trained Machine Learning models into production, ensuring their robustness and scalability.
  • Evaluate and fine-tune model performance on diverse datasets.
  • Attend and participate (where appropriate) in various team meetings, project planning sessions, and prioritization discussions.
  • Develop visualization tools to explain and interpret Machine Learning model results for a broader audience.

What you bring:
  • Undergraduate and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and deploying Machine Learning models.
  • Proficiency with Python and major ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Familiarity with data processing and data quality assurance.
  • Experience integrating ML solutions with existing platforms or systems.
  • Knowledge of ML model performance tuning.
  • Proficiency with version control tools, such as Git.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving capabilities with a drive to continuously learn.
  • Ability to present analytical findings and offer strategic recommendations.
