Reporting to the Coordinator of Testing, the Testing Proctor provides exam proctoring of students for assessments, quizzes, and final exams. This position works as scheduled throughout the academic year.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Performance Requirements*
- Serve as proctor for a variety of testing activities (e.g. CLEP, TSI, instructional testing, professional certification exams, etc.)
- Explains testing center procedures and monitors students as they test
- Maintains a safe and calm testing environment
- Checks identification before testing and seat examinees for testing
- Communicates effectively with customers
- Assists customers with scheduling exams
- Processes and delivers test reports
- Monitor entry and exit into the testing room, and enforce test security procedures before and during testing
- Ensure all testers receive the appropriate testing accommodations as instructed by the Instructor or Disability Services
- Provides high-quality customer service to internal and external customers
- Organizes, distributes, and collects all test materials as directed
- Maintain confidentiality of all records in accordance with FERPA
- Reports suspected irregularities in a timely manner to examinee supervisor or student development staff
- Maintains testing center at highest level of cleanliness and order
Service Excellence
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations
- Attends the workplace regularly and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)

Required Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Two (2) years of customer service experience
Certification for each exam may be required for the Professional Certification Testing Center
- Previous test proctoring experience
- Experience working with technology
- Ability to work with a diverse population and support student success
- Ability to work in a quiet environment and assist the students with minimal interruption to others
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including days, nights, and weekends
- Detail-oriented; ability to multi-task; able to maintain confidentiality
- Able to work with and learn computer applications and testing software
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations

Special Instructions SummaryThis is a part-time position, with a maximum of 19.5 hrs. per week. Applicants must be available between the hours of 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm during the weekdays and some weekends. Flexibility is required as part-time work schedules may vary based on individual campus/departmental needs.
