The Opportunity:
When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, an experienced Test Engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.
As a Test Engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience to evaluate software developed to disseminate Space Situational Awareness data to provide collision analysis and warning services to commercial satellite owners and operators. You’ll create a test plan with test cases based on user stories and implement these test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You’ll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of the system. This is an opportunity to supercharge your skills by writing test cases against code. You’ll also broaden your experience in system integration and cloud management while sharing your testing experience with your team. Work with us as we protect our nations emerging technologies in commercial space management. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:
12+ years of experience in coordinating with a development team, Product Owner, and key technical stakeholders to ensure that requirements and user stories are developed and tested in support of new business features and capabilities
12 + years of experience with developing test cases and test scripts for products and systems, executing tests and providing analysis on system reliability and functionality, documenting problems that occur during the testing process, and coordinating defect correction with development team
5+ years of experience with automated testing and tools like Selenium and stress testing using appropriate tools
5+ years of experience working in an environment with data-centric software architecting, software systems engineering, microservice architecture, containerization, cloud services, and DevSecOps and agile development
Experience with using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for preparing user stories, documenting defects, and tracking until resolution
Experience with enabling the Continuous Delivery Pipeline through appropriate requirements and design guidelines, actively participating in the Continuous Exploration process as part of the Continuous Integration and Delivery Pipeline
Experience with assisting a software engineering team to ensure accurate monitoring and metrics that satisfy system requirements are built into the applications before deployment to production
Ability to support technology and engineering aspects of program planning and execution, provide oversight, and foster Built-In Quality and Team and Technical Agility
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience with developing tools, operational improvements, and automated solutions that enable self- service configuration changes, speed deployments, and improve monitoring in support of mission-critical customer-facing applications and environments
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
