Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking a Test Engineer IIIin Burbank, CA.
This position is key to the Test Engineering Lab Operations within our Landing Systems Engineering Team.
Position Overview:
Performs major Qualification Engineering activities. Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems and components. Identifies functional problems, troubleshoots and suggests resolutions. Analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports.
This position is eligible for our Crane Flex Hybrid schedule which allows for the option of up to 2 days/week of work-from-home. Some conditions apply which will be discussed during the interview process. Full policy to be provided after hire.
Essential Functions:
• Write test plans, procedures and reports for testing based on standards such as MIL-STD-810 and RTCA-DO-160.
• Collaborate with customers and engineers to establish/clarify qualification test levels.
• Participate in the estimation of costs and schedules to develop or upgrade test platforms.
• Work independently under minimal supervision and guidance to perform tasks of substantial complexity and to be capable of leading and coordinating the efforts of junior engineers and technicians.
• Design, fabrication, standardization and documentation of Mechanical and Vibration Test Fixtures.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related Science/Engineering field.
• Minimum of 5 years working experience with developing and testing hydraulic or mechanical assemblies in an engineering environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiar with desktop computer applications such as Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, Outlook e-mail, and Internet Explorer applications.
• Ability to logically solve problems, organize materials, and keep projects moving in an orderly and structured fashion.
• Ability to work well with others in the areas of teamwork and communication.
• Expert in troubleshooting hardware failures related to qualification environments
• Familiar with planning, executing, and reporting on environmental testing (e.g. altitude, humidity, temperature, vibration, etc.) testing in accordance with MIL-STD-810 and RTCA/DO-160 test standards.
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience using SolidWorks for test fixture design.
• Experience with hydraulics (safety, testing, bending and flaring tubing, fluid cleanliness)

Salary range: $112,611 to $128,918.
