TPG is currently seeking TEST DRIVERS (Part-time)!
JOB DESCRIPTION/SKILLS/DUTIES:
Safely operate test vehicles in a wide range of testing conditions including Tire Wear Testing and OEM component development testing. Testing to be performed on public roads in the Greenville area.
With the variation in product testing schedules and timing, the demand for part-time Test Drivers fluctuates between extreme high and periodic needs. Since we see fluctuation throughout the year, individuals with flexible schedules and the ability to work more hours during peak seasons. These roles are for individuals who are looking to supplement their income. Those who are interested in participating as long-term part-time Test Drivers, who meet the requirements, are encouraged to apply.

• Follow detailed instructions for vehicle and component preparation to begin testing. This may include but is not limited to full visual inspection of vehicle including tires, glass, body panels and interior. Checking all vehicle fluids, air pressure, and function of components.
• Must be able to drive in various conditions including heavy city traffic, highways, mountain areas, and on dirt roads. Also, must be comfortable driving in adverse weather conditions including rain and snow.
• Work independently to payload vehicle, operate vehicle components as specified and complete documentation

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Safety:

• Able to drive safely in various conditions, follow policies and take ownership for working safely to avoid risks to self and others
• Minimum of 5 years of driving experience with excellent driving record for past 5 years
• Safety Sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to activity be drug free. Alcohol consumption not permitted 8 hours prior to beginning of start of shift.
• Able to safely drive in heavy traffic and adverse weather conditions including rain and snow.
• May support training of others on performance and safe driving skills.
• Document near misses, make suggestions for reduction of risk exposure and communicate all damage to vehicle including scrapes, dings etc. Participate in and support corrective action plans as requested.

Physical:

• Must be able to lift 60 lbs
• Able to sit for prolonged periods routinely exceeding two or more hours
• Suspension component wear testing is designed to expose vehicles to periodic harsh road conditions. Prolonged sitting for 2 or more hours and evening driving may be necessary. Individuals who may become injured or exacerbate a previous injury are not suited for this activity.

Interpersonal:

• Able to work cooperatively in diverse & challenging environment. Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible and receptive to new requests.

Education:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Schedule:

• Part-Time position may work up to 40 hours per week for period when project workload requires.
• Must be flexible and able to work weekends
• There are two shifts (8 hrs.):
  • 1st Shift: 4:30 AM 1:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM 10:30 PM
