The Territory Sales Manageris responsible for our Gulf States territory. This team member will promote renting light-duty trucks from PTR’s fleet by achieving opportunity-based sales goals. This established territory is developing rapidly and is full of opportunities. We are looking for an ambitious salesperson willing to work hard to continue building an existing book of business. We are built on providing excellent service and premier vehicles to various industries: construction, oil & gas, electrical, wind & solar, and telecom. This position requires strong communication skills, product knowledge, and the ability to cultivate/build long-term relationships. The position includes a company truck, laptop, cell phone, and travel allowance. This role reports to the VP of Sales.

 

COMPENSATION

This position has a competitive compensation package combining Base Salary plus Commission.

 

TERRITORY

This position will have a multi-state territory of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. There is a 30-50% travel requirement for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Relentlessly, pursue business targets through effective sales management of the territory.  
  • Consistently, acquire new customers. Assist our existing customers in expanding their business footprints.
  • Promoting PTR from the boardroom to the job site
  • Be recognized as a resource to our customers for any questions about our products and their opportunities.. 
  • Ability to quickly, and effectively, establish genuine relationships with people.
  • Perform product demonstrations and presentations.
  • Overnight travel. We believe there is no other way to be successful in our business. PTR reps are, personally, in front of and engaging with our customers. This includes professional and social settings. 
  • Achieve business targets through effective management of our the assigned territory and providing excellent service to our customers.
  • Obtain new customer accounts and expand current customer accounts.
  • Effectively pitch to small-medium-sized regional accounts and large corporate and national accounts.
  • Work with sales support and accounting teams to efficiently manage all accounts.
  • Responsible for maintaining deep knowledge and understanding of each product line PTR offers.
  • Ability to effectively establish relationships and meet in person with customers.
  • Emphasize the features and benefits of PTR’s product offering, add-ons, and customization options.
  • Perform product demonstrations while on-site at customer locations.
  • Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for territory growth.
  • Travel a minimum of 50% visiting new customers.

 

MUST HAVE

  • 5+ Years of territory manager, account manager, regional Sales Manager, national Sales Manager, or outside sales experience required.
  • Medium-duty truck rental and/or oil, gas, and utility sales experience required.
  • Ability to convert prospects into closed sales.
  • Strong sales reporting and analysis skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to effectively interact with personnel from all aspects of the business unit.
  • Proactive and decisive contributor to the business with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, and anticipate obstacles, developments, and problems by looking ahead to effectively execute responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, logical, manner in formal and informal situations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • An energetic and honest individual with high ethical standards.
  • Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent organization and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Comfortable with 50% minimum travel requirement.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience using CRMs such as Salesforce, etc.
  • Organized/strategic approach to travel and sales.
  • Existing relationships and customer base in the existing territory.
