Position Summary

The primary function of the Nashville, TN based Territory Development Representative is to provide clinical and sales support of Teleflex's Pilling and KMedic branded surgical instruments to the OR/Sterile Processing Departments. Critical roles and responsibilities include effectively promoting the value proposition of the portfolio to OR Coordinators, Sterile Processing, Surgeons, and Hospital Materials Management. This may include educating physicians and support staff on the appropriate set up and use of all Instrumentation. Territory Development Representatives are expected to work in concert with Regional Sales Managers and Instrument Sales Representatives to provide account coverage, support large Instrumentation surveys, tray assemblies/installs, peg board support as well as open territory coverage,  Additionally, the Territory Development Representative will be required to conduct in-services for staff, participate in sales presentations to prospective customers, and travel will be required throughout the region, area, or nation based on clinical and personnel needs. The Territory Development Representative should have high computer efficiency as they will be asked to support large quotes, inclusive of cross references, as well as continuing to build to our training library. 

Principal Responsibilities

    Exhibiting competencies with the Teleflex surgical instrument portfolio and competitors 
    Completing and sending in expense reports with the appropriate documentation every two to three weeks.
    Assisting in trade shows when requested
    Participating in regional, mid-year, and national sales meetings
    Consistently updating customer database through salesforce.com. and communicate those updates to Sales and Marketing counterparts.
    Filling out customer complaint forms on a timely basis manner and sending to Quality Assurance.
    Sharing competitive information with home office staff, their RSM counter-part and Sales Director.
    Prospecting for new customers.
    Taking proper care of Teleflex Instrumentation in their possession.
    Prudently managing their company expense account.
    Participating in designated conference calls and meetings.
    Following up on requests made by Regional Sales Managers or / Sales Director.
    Assisting in, creating and initiating strategies and tactics to increase utilization in the territories they are supporting.

Education / Experience Requirements

    Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university preferred or 4+ years' experience of prior medical device sales experience is expected, with a demonstrated track record of success. 
    Proven track record of success.
    Able to spend a time (40 - 60%) traveling in the region with potential to travel to areas across the US.
    Advanced level proficiency with computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
    Outgoing with a positive attitude.
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

    Possess a valid driver's license and operate a motor vehicle with satisfactory driving records.
    Carry detail bag weighing up to 30 lbs.
    Lift equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
    Be standing or walking in numerous hospitals or at meetings for 6 - 10 hours per day, up to five (5) days per week.
    Interact with others through effective, verbal communication.
