BASIC PURPOSE: The Terminal Scheduler role is responsible for managing adequate product inventory and tank utilization at assigned terminal location(s) by scheduling product movements with customers’ scheduling resources, terminal personnel, and internal terminal business development resources.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule Product Movements. Point person for all inbound product movements at assigned terminal locations, including movements by pipeline, rail, and vessel.
- Inventory Management. Managing customer product inventory, nominations, and product allocations at each assigned terminal location based on current demands via communication with customers’ scheduling resources, terminal personnel, and pipeline schedulers.
- Inventory Solutions. Coordinating development of solutions to inventory containment and product outages with customers’ scheduling resources.
- Measurement Quality Control. Researching resolutions for quality and measurement related issues.
- Customer Service. Providing exceptional customer service to terminal customers.
- Accounting Reconciliation. Reconcile terminal and customer accounting issues in a timely manner.
- Demurrage Resolution and Reconciliation. Work with appropriate rail carrier to reconcile and resolve demurrage charges.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business a plus
- Experience:
- 1+ year(s) related experience in refined products scheduling preferred.
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Skills:
- Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel; general knowledge and experience in the petroleum industry or terminal operations preferred; scheduling training classes such as Colonial University, knowledge of various pipelines, grades, deal types, etc.
- Soft Skills: Good written and oral communication skills, easy to work with / team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self motivated, good time management skills, and innovative thinking
- Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision
