Terminal Operations Manager Trainee

The Terminal Operations Manager Trainee will be required to handle themselves with integrity and in support of the overall mission of the WJW Company at all times. The Management Trainee Program will prepare the right person for the following:

Role and Responsibilities

Revenue/Sales:

· Create greater revenue opportunities through account penetration of current WJW accounts

· Secure new customer opportunities and enhance the overall profitability of WJW

· Focus on maximizing profitability through effective decision making, maximizing margins on brokered loads, effective load planning and superior customer service at all times.

Operations:

· Oversee the entire terminal, including driver and dispatch personnel

· Direct transportation activities to maintain efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction

· Monitor budget, operational metrics, and compliance throughout terminal

· Collaborate with managers and other employees to form and implement procedures, goals, policies, or objectives

· Handle customer complaints and revise processes to improve service

· Ensure that relevant local, state, and federal regulations are met, as well as promote and encourage safety

Education/Experience 

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, military service, and/or work experience

· 1+ year(s) of Transportation Management along with a basic, demonstrated understanding of Terminal Operations preferred

· Some knowledge of Transportation Operations and laws, federal safety regulations and maintenance requirements preferred

· Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills in addition to a proven track record of success

· Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, direct and lead multiple tasks at once

· Computer proficiency with Word, Outlook is required. Knowledge of Transportation Software a PLUS
