Basic Purpose:
The Terminal Manager is responsible for ensuring that the daily transportation functions for assigned terminals and/or products are carried out safely and effectively. This includes driver management, safety program, and overall efficient and effective cost management of the operation. Accountable to terminal operations manager for performance of assigned terminals and/or products.
Responsibilities:

• Ensure sufficient drivers are adequately trained and available. Hire, train, supervise, direct, coach, and discipline drivers. Develop schedules, monitor work, and ensure drivers meet productivity standards. Perform driver observations to verify adherence to LSPT policies and procedures. Develop appropriate follow-up plans as needed.
• Make certain sufficient equipment is available when needed. Manage equipment to ensure maintenance, tank cleaning, inspection, and license/registration are current. Maintain and analyze equipment utilization metrics. Work with local service providers to ensure adherence to LSPT standards.
• Optimize terminal costs, including efficient utilization of drivers and equipment. Provide input and suggestions regarding additional resources and process improvements. Implements identified savings.
• Responsible for the safety performance of assigned drivers. Partner with HSE to identify safety trends and patterns. Develop and implement training and coaching to address safety trends. Plan and conduct safety meetings. Enforce safety and company policies. Make operational safety recommendations.
• Monitor and audit driver logs and timekeeping records.
• Responsible for driver and equipment DOT compliance. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations as well as Company standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Thorough knowledge of DOT/FHWA/HM/FMCSA regulations
• Knowledge of commercial fleet equipment and operations
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal, written, listening)
• Proficient using computer software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. PowerPoint helpful.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
• Ability to demonstrate good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, self-motivation a must
• Ability to make sound decisions and take appropriate action
• Ability to respond to unexpected conditions/emergencies
• Ability to work non-traditional hours
• 40-60% travel

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in the transportation industry, hazardous materials/light oil experience preferred
• 3+ years supervisory experience

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Transportation or Logistics or related field
• CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements
• Previous CMV driving experience
