Summary:
Under the direction of the Head Tennis Professional, the Tennis Teaching Professional is responsible for teaching tennis lessons and performing assigned administrative duties in a warm and friendly atmosphere for everyone at Deer Creek Racquet Club.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to the "Professional Code of Standards." Develop and execute lesson plans that will promote students' tennis development. Professionalism: arriving on time and wearing appropriate attire. Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment. Promote the sale of tennis equipment and facility events in the lesson setting. Meet off court responsibilities such as, but not limited to: promptly responding to inquiries; obtaining substitutes when needed; maintain accurate attendance; sustain regular communications with the management staff. Keep accurate records; collect instructional fees and report them to the facility manager.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent –AND/OR- one to three months related experience/training.
- Ability to communicate with students and fellow co-workers.
- Need to be a positive addition to the teamwork atmosphere. Respectful attitude. Be able to withstand the physical demands of a tennis professional.
Classification: Part-Time 20-29 hours, non-exempt, IMRF Pension
Wage Range: $35 - $40/hour depending on experience and qualifications
