Head Tennis Professional
Position Summary:
The Head Tennis Professional will work closely with the Director of Racquets and Racquets Operations Manager to offer the Broken Sound Club Membership an active tennis program.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Member Services teams at Broken Sound Club, in Boca Raton, FL, pride themselves in providing the highest standards of Member Satisfaction for members and their guests and ensure they receive the absolute best in personal service and support.
· Available on a full-time basis to offer private, semi-private, and group instruction to the members.
· The Head Pro is responsible for:
· Inspect all Tennis and Pickleball courts to ensure playability for early morning play.
· Actively involved in the development, promotion of Ladies’ Leagues to the club members and promotion and implementation of all tennis events.
a. The Women’s Team Program – includes teaching team practices, observing home and away matches starting from 10:45 a.m. to completion of matches, and working with team Captains on line-ups and other areas. All team line-ups, roster decisions and team issues in general will always be discussed and reviewed by the Director of Racquets. Responsible for being knowledgeable of all Club Rules and Regulations and therefore is always willing and able to handle any situation that may come up at the Tennis Facility.
· Needs to be knowledgeable of Pro Shop operations on a “hands on” basis. Head Pro will be willing and able to cover the Pro Shop as necessary.
· Needs to be thoroughly knowledgeable with reference to clay court maintenance and when necessary is willing and able to brush, line and water courts.
· Needs to be willing and able to apply materials and do other necessary maintenance duties.
· Head Pro is totally knowledgeable and willing and able to string and grip frames when necessary. Is always available for professional opinion and advice to the membership with reference to equipment, apparel and other accessories.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Ability to perform the above responsibilities in a satisfactory manner
Must be a tournament level tennis player and be able to capably instruct all level of players. Must have knowledge of all merchandise related to the sport. Must be able to demonstrate the exact stroking method of hitting a tennis ball during a lesson.
Education & Work Experience Requirements:
Four-year college degree preferred. Member of USPTA preferred and have passed any or all requirements recognized by that organization. Must have several years of coaching experience at the country club level.

Employee must be flexible and must be able to bend over and pick up balls at an accelerated speed during and following a lesson. Employee must be capable of running and hitting balls with a tennis racquet with both hands for at least five hours per day.
Employee must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
