Job Description
Summary/objective
Responsible for teaching private and group lessons for all ages and skill levels, as well as assisting with; lessons & clinics, court maintenance, racquet stringing and junior development.
Essential functions

- Assist with the supervision of all tennis play
- Provide competent tennis instruction for all groups and levels of players
- Assist with junior development of competitive players and 10 and under tennis
- Conduct private and group lessons
- Coordinate junior clinics and matches
- Assist with pro shop sales and court bookings
- String racquets and provide knowledgeable recommendations to members about their string and equipment
- Assist the Director with all club events, tournaments and USTA matches
- Court maintenance including, but not limited to; brushing and lining courts, cleaning tennie-two steps, blowing sidewalks, cleaning tables and chairs, empty trash, replacing and replenishing water
- Deliver outstanding service to our members, guests, and fellow team members with friendliness, direct eye contact, and a pleasant demeanor
- Promote the safety and security of all participants at all times
- Maintain a notable visual presence during work shifts
- Communicate program policies and expectations members and/or guests to ensure a high level of safety and service at all times
- Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the facility while providing outstanding customer service to all children and parents
Requirements
Physical demands
- Must be able to fully participate in all tennis activities (programs and/or lessons)
- Must be able to work in warm and humid outdoor conditions
- Must be able to stand, move, walk, and bend for the duration of a shift
- Must have ability and willingness to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Required competencies, education, and experience
- Must be available to work April-November
- High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- USPTA or PTA Certifications preferred
- Prior experience instructing tennis lessons required
- Prior experience with tennis youth programming and/or summer camp programs highly desired
- Must have genuine interest in working with and interacting with children and adults of all skill levels
- Must be at least 18 years old
