Holbrook Tennis is a small family owned company where employees work along side the owner to learn a very specialized industry. Our 4 person crew becomes a team united in the goal of restoring outdoor sports courts with professionalism and efficiency.

We are looking for a highly motivated person that is interested and curious to learn about a unique business with potential to make it their new career. There are hundreds of outdoor and indoor tennis, basketball, pickleball courts in Wisconsin and thousands around the world. Due to our reputation, we are completely booked for this year and already booking into 2025, there is no shortage of work and stability. We travel all around Wisconsin with potential for southern states and international locations in the winter.
This job is for someone who will stay for the entire Wisconsin season, May - October 31st, with an option to work during the winter season for the right candidate. Responsibilities:
- Work outside every day, understanding that long hours lead to big paychecks
- Use hand tools to pressure wash, crack fill, level concrete and asphalt sport surfaces (no heavy machinery operation is required)
- Learn to squegee paint onto flat surfaces
- Learn to stripe for all kinds of sports - tennis, basketball, pickleball
- Lift heavy materials
- Be comfortable working on a small crew, learning and working closely with the owner on a daily basis.
Typical Schedule: Work Monday - Saturday, 7am - 5:30pm (Saturdays required)
Since we can only work during the summer and when the sun is shining, we work as much as possible during our season. This leads to big paychecks and time to relax and play in the winter months. We work hard in the summer so we can play hard in the winter!
- May - Most jobs local, so home in the evenings.
- June - out of town from Monday thru Saturday night, off on Sundays.
- July - out of town from Monday thru Saturday night, off on Sundays.
- August - October: 50% of jobs local, home in the evenings. 50% of jobs will be out of town, requiring overnight hotel stays.
Out of town info:
- Every crew member has their own room, paid by company of course.
- Per Diem (daily meal money) of $45 given for each overnight, free breakfasts typically provided by hotels. Each crew member is free to use as they wish.
- Driving hours paid from time of leaving shop to return.
Experience/Personality:
- Has experience working on an outside job - landscaping, construction, etc.
- Likes to be physical and sweat - getting "steps in" will not be an issue
- Relaxed, outgoing personality that is ready to learn something new
- Likes to drive and travel - new place every project. 50% of work will be on the road requiring overnight hotel stays
- Comfortable leading the crew eventually, understanding that "putting the time in" to understand the job and process is required first
Requirements:
- valid driver's license
- English speaking
- no criminal background that restricts working at parks and schools
Wages/Inclusions/Holidays:
- $21 - $23 per hour (depending on experience, work ethic and attitude)
- OVERTIME: Time and a half wage for any hours after 40. Typical work week 50 hours.
- 5 uniform shirts
- Paid drive time to jobs - time starts from when crew leaves shop to return.
- Holidays Off - Memorial Weekend (May 25th - 27th) and 4th of July Weekend (July 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th)
Drug screening and background check conducted prior to start date.
- Season End Bonus - Bonus check for $1/hour given for every hour worked during the season if employee stays until the end of the season (typically end of October).
