Job Summary: The SJCS Marketing & Development team is seeking a passionate individual to cultivate community, volunteer and corporate relationships. These relationships will result in brand awareness, gifts-in-kind, volunteers and monetary donations/sponsorships to further the organization's mission. SJCS provides vital support and care for vulnerable populations across four states and the District of Columbia. The Community and Donor Relations Associate will work hand in hand with the Tennessee Director and Director of Marketing & Development to fulfill organizational objectives. This position does include some weeknight and weekend commitments.
Objectives:
- Promote awareness of the organization’s mission and work
- Cultivate a network of dedicated donors and volunteers
- Spot new fundraising opportunities
- Plan fundraising initiatives along with the development team to help the organization meet financial goals
- Form strong relationships with external community members and corporations to further the SJCS mission
- Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop
- Execute fundraising events with the Development/State teams
- Obtain gift-in-kind donations to support Tenessee programs
Responsibilities: The specific responsibilities of the position shall include, but are not limited to:
- Research individuals, corporations, and foundations interested in partnership.
- Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors and community partners
- Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns
- Organize fundraising events while overseeing teams of volunteers
- Manage a budget and track whether goals are being met
Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Meaningful experience in fundraising, sales, or marketing
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to lead and motivate colleagues and volunteers
- Strong attention to detail
- Very clear and concise verbal and written communication of plans and goals
- Ability to successfully balance priorities while managing multiple tasks and planning big events
- Familiarity with Donor Management Systems to keep donor data up to date.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, business, public relations, or related field
- Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising
- Experience in writing press releases, and fundraising letters
- Confidence in public speaking
Pay: $55,000.00 per year
