PART TIME FOOD SERVICE COORDINATOR (TEMPORARY POSITION)

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The Toledo Zoo is looking for a Temporary PT Food Service Coordinator. This position reports to the Food Service Coordinator and is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to staffing for the food service department. This includes interviewing part-time staff, attending all new hire orientations, giving tours to new staff around the Zoo, weekly employee scheduling, maintaining records/reports, and helping with all aspects of on-boarding new team members.

This position is a part-time, non-exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act with scheduled work hours not exceeding 28 hours per work week. This position could be privy to sensitive information and would need to exercise confidentiality skills.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Attending Orientations
  • Meeting staff on their first day
  • Conducting Food Service portion of the orientation
  • Giving tours to new hires at all locations within the Zoo
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of training programs
  • Coordinating with the Recruiting Department in order to recruit, interview, and hire qualified staff
  • Coordinating and supervising onboarding activities for new team members
  • Maintaining a database of all training and onboarding materials
  • Conducting training for part-time staff in small and large settings
  • Reviewing employee performance and learning
  • Performing all functions of scheduling for Food Service and Merchandise departments
  • Assisting with payroll duties
  • Monitoring and reporting employee incident reports to the VP of Food Service Operations daily/weekly
  • Performing other related duties as required and as listed on job description

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Prefer degree in Food Services, HR, Business, or related field and three to five years of experience in food service, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must possess required certification in food service sanitation. Must have a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
