Temp Student Loan Assistant (Hybrid)

General Summary
A Student Loan Assistant is responsible for providing quality customer service and account resolution to borrowers via incoming or outgoing phone calls, texts, and emails regarding their federal Student Loans. This position may utilize approved resources and internet sites to obtain location/contact information for borrowers. The goal of the assistant is to assist borrowers with their Student Loans, reduce delinquency and prevent borrowers from defaulting. The Assistant will counsel borrowers on available repayment options, forbearance and/or deferment options. Other responsibilities may include speaking with students to conduct and answer any other questions pertaining to Default Prevention Management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist former students to bring their federal Student Loan account current which includes calls, texts, emails, skip tracing and conference calls to loan servicers.
• Maintain and update files to ensure that information on students’ accounts is accurate, complete, and up to date.
• Serve as a liaison between borrowers and loan servicers.
• Follow-up, advise and guide borrowers through the IDR application process.
• Interface with students regarding their Direct Loans.
• Communicate in a clear and concise manner.
• Updating Cohort Reports.
• Other duties as required.
• Will work under the general supervision of the Student Loan Advisor in the Default Prevention Default Management.

High School Diploma or GED

• Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Excellent communications skills
• Good organization skills
• Ability to work with a wide range of people

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
