University of New Mexico-Gallup Branch, Education, Health and Human ServicesDivision, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and/ordevelop lower division courses (100/1000 level) in the Spring, Summer, andFall 2024 semesters in the following anticipated potential disciplines:
EMS Basic
EMS Basic Lab
Introduction to EMSSystems
EMT Intermediate
EMT Intermediate Lab
EMT Intermediate Clinical/Internship
Emergency MedicalResponder
First Aid & CPR
American HeartAssociation CPR

UNM Gallup is a two-year branch campus of theUniversity of New Mexico located approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque. The University of New Mexico established branch colleges to provide thehighest quality of education for students pursuing post-secondary education atdifferent locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specificallyto the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of their respectivecommunities by offering community education programs, career and technicaleducation including certificate and associate degree programs, and transferprograms that prepare students for upper division entry into colleges anduniversities. 

The Education, Health andHuman Services Division at UNM Gallup Branch is seeking qualified temporarypart-time faculty members to teach lower division classes in various courses ortopics as specified above. UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for allaspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meetingface-to-face with the class during assigned times that may include evenings orweekends, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments,reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by thedivision chair.
Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by studentenrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven bygraduation requirements.  Positions may be filled or eliminated eachsemester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses.  Candidateswho are selected for these positions will report to the division chair.

Wages
Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials andcredit hour course loads, as follows:

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • UNM Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Academy Approved EMT/EMS Instructor Coordinator
  • Current New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician Certification (AEMT/Paramedic)
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) Card

Preferred Qualifications:

  • UNM Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Academy Approved EMT/EMS Instructor Coordinator
  • Five (5) years professional EMS experience
  • Experience teaching EMS/EMT classes
  • Experience with program design/methodology
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) instructor
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity,inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diversecommunities
