Job description

Since 1891, New York's Carnegie Hall has set the international standard for excellence in performance, presenting exceptional concerts by the world's finest artists on its three iconic stages, from orchestral concerts, chamber music, contemporary offerings, and recitals to jazz, world, and popular music. Complementing its performance activities, Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute creates extensive music education and social impact programs that annually serve more than 800,000 people worldwide, playing a central role in fulfilling Carnegie Hall's commitment to making great music accessible to as many people as possible.
We are seeking a Hall Cleaner, who will work with a team to ensure that all concert halls and associated ancillary spaces are ready to welcome visitors, patrons, and artists daily.
Work Days: As assigned by Management
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (this is NOT all-inclusive)
• Work effectively with Management, Supervisors, and co-workers
• Complete cleaning tasks both with a team and individually
• Follow directions consistently
• Communicate to Supervisor with questions or concerns in a timely manner
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Work in a respectful manner with others
• Complete all assigned tasks
• Work in a reliable and punctual manner
QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasionally nights
• Ability to work with last minute changes
• Ability to communicate well with others
• Ability to work with a flexible schedule
• Ability to stay on task
• Must possess basic computer skills
• Experience with cleaning
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift at least 40lbs and carry it up stairs
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, twist, and bend on a frequent basis
• Ability to take stairs without using a handrail, daily
• Ability to operate simple machinery (for example: vacuums, extractors, buffers, etc.)
• Comfortable working in confined, wide open or high spaces
• Must be able to work with a variety of cleaning products
