Torrance Memorial Physician Network has an immediate opening for a full-time Telephone System Coordinator (Operator). The Telephone System Coordinator is responsible for answering telephones for a busy cardiology/pulmonary/sleep practice. We are seeking an energetic, positive, team oriented person to join us!
Position Description:
The Telephone System Coordinator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Answer phones and route calls to appropriate departments/personnel.
- Take messages accurately and document in computer system.
- Overhead page physician and staff as needed.
- Schedules appointments for office visits and diagnostic studies.
- Notifies patients and reschedules appointments as needed.
- Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains authorization as needed.
- Provides patients with any necessary instructions / directions.
- Provide Front Desk coverage as needed.
- Scans and uploads documents into the electronic health record.
Position Requirements:
- Experience working in a medical office as Operator, Front Desk Receptionist or Scheduler.
- EHR (Electronic Health Record) software experience required. Prior Cerner experience preferred.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of use of office equipment (fax/copier/scanner)
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
