Who is Fulton Family Psychiatry:
Fulton Family Psychiatry is a virtual psychiatry private practice located in upstate NY, dedicated to practicing psychiatry for the whole family with a holistic approach. Our mission is to provide compassionate and comprehensive mental healthcare to individuals of all ages across New York State. Guided by our esteemed founders, Dr. Cecile Matip and Dr. Rajaa Nebbari, both American board-certified specialists, we are dedicated to serving the diverse needs of our community. We stand committed to inclusivity, accepting Medicaid and Medicare, ensuring that no one is denied the care they deserve.
We believe in a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing that well-being encompasses more than just medication. By fostering understanding and offering personalized treatment plans, we empower our patients to embrace lifestyle changes, nutritional balance, psychotherapy, and supportive environments. We specialize in providing second opinions on existing medication regimens and offer safe, gradual methods for those seeking to transition away from medications.
What sets us apart is our dedication to spending quality time with our patients, actively listening to their concerns. We provide integrated services, including medication management, nutritional guidance, weight management, spirituality encouragement, and community involvement support, all within our practice. By addressing the underlying issues causing mental health conditions, we promote long-term healing and stability.
Position Overview:
We seek highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistants (PA) who share our beliefs in treating the whole person, not just their symptoms, while integrating various holistic modalities to promote overall well-being. You do not need any experience in psychiatry or mental health, as our Medical Director will train you and continue to supervise you throughout your journey with us, teaching you not only about interviewing, diagnosing, and medication management but also about using supplements and vitamins as treatment tools and practicing integrative medicine. Additionally, you will learn about nutrition, exercise, lifestyle changes, and psychotherapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial evaluations and 30-minute follow-up sessions with patients via telemedicine.
- Assist patients seeking a second opinion on their current medication regimen or exploring the possibility of reducing or discontinuing their medication.
- Collaborate with Dr. Matip, our Medical Director, who will provide comprehensive training and continuous support.
- Engage in continuous learning through lectures and grand rounds with medical students from Touro College, Hunter College, NYU, and Syracuse University, fostering professional growth and skill enhancement.
- Utilize our user-friendly Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, supported by a dedicated clerical team.
- Encourage patients to explore their own experiences with psychotherapy, enhancing their overall well-being.
Qualifications:
- Board certification and state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to empathetically engage with patients.
- Strong commitment to patient care, mental health advocacy, and holistic treatment approaches.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic, supportive environment.
- Prior psychiatric experience is not required; we value a willingness to learn and grow over previous experience.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience, based on work hours ranging from $65 to $85/hr.
- Flexible working hours to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
- Comprehensive training and supervision by Dr. Matip, an expert in integrative and functional psychiatry.
- Opportunity to collaborate with a supportive, interdisciplinary team of professionals.
- Access to continuous education and professional development opportunities.
- Acceptance of most private insurances, Medicaid, and Medicare, ensuring accessibility for diverse patient populations.
