The Technology Technician position plays a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and functionality of our technological infrastructure. As an integral member of our IT team, the technician will be responsible for providing technical support, resolving IT help desk tickets and ensuring the seamless operation of teacher and student devices, diverse software applications and hardware across our campus. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving technical issues, conducting regular maintenance and updates and collaborating with team members to implement new technologies. This technician is responsible for device onboarding, tracking/distribution, maintenance and updates. The role requires a deep understanding of troubleshooting various devices, proficiency in software application support and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to users with varying technical backgrounds.

Responsibilities
- Provides technical support and assistance to teachers and students regarding device functionality, software applications, and hardware concerns
- Manages and resolves a variety of IT help desk ticket items efficiently and effectively
- Conducts regular maintenance, updates and troubleshooting for teacher and student devices (Chromebooks), ensuring optimal performance and security
- Collaborates with IT team members to implement new technologies and upgrades as needed
- Offers guidance and training to users on technology-related issues, promoting best practices for device and application usage
- Possesses strong technical skills in troubleshooting a diverse range of devices including laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc.
- Resolves software application issues across different platforms (Google and Windows)
- Performs hardware maintenance, upgrades and repairs
- Keeps current with technology tools and software commonly used in a classroom setting
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- Valid A+ certification preferred
- Experience working in an educational environment, supporting teacher and student technology needs
- Knowledge of educational software applications and learning management systems.
- Familiarity with networking basics and troubleshooting connectivity issues
- $20-$22 per hour, depending on school and other IT experience
- Membership in MPSERS (Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System)
